SENATE MANDATE COMMERCIAL BANKS TO STOP ARBITRARY DEDUCTIONS FROM CUSTOMERS ACCOUNTS

The Senate has mandated the Central Bank of Nigeria to wade into the complaints of Nigerians over the illegal and arbitrary deductions by commercial banks in the country. This happened at the Senate briefing on Tuesday in Abuja.Senator Abe drew the attention of the Senate to the arbitrary and illegal deductions made by commercial banks on their customers bank accounts.

The nation’s apex bank told the Senate that as at 20th of February, they have so far  recovered N2.6billion from banks as excess charges.
