The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike in company of state executives paid a solidarity visit to Benue State to commiserate with the Governor and people of the state over the murder of 73 people at the beginning of the year by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
To the people of Benue, God will fight for you, you must also try to defend yourselves but don’t take laws into your hands.”
Governor Wike made a donation of N200 million to alleviate the plight of Internally Displaced Person’s (IDPs) in Benue.
The donation was coming at a time when the IDP’s were desperately in need of basic things, such as water, food and shelter.
Governor Ortom of Benue State lamented the increasing numbers of IDP’s coming from neighboring state of Nassarawa and hinterlands of Benue over fear of attack by herdsmen.
