Fayose declares half day work for Ekiti Civil Servants to welcome some cabinet members released from EFCC detention

Governor Fayose

Ekiti State was set agog with the release of key members of Governor Fayose’s cabinet from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody 14 days after.  Civil servants were asked to go home after 10.am on Thursday 12th of October to enable Ekiti residents welcome their son and daughter that were set free from  EFCC detention.

Though many civil servants are happy over the subtle declaration of public holiday in the State, they advised that Governor Fayose should focus more energy on the payment of the back log of salaries owed them and pension arrears for pensioners.

In another vein, some social commentators have taken a swipe on the Governor, asking if the State Commissioner for Finance, Chief  Toyin Ojo and Accountant General of Ekiti State, Mrs. Yemisi Owolabi that were released from EFCC detention were freedom fighters fighting for the interest of the masses or were at the EFCC to clear their names of any form of financial impropriety.
