Wike: APC runs out of facts, resort to dubious blackmail

Published by:

Governor Wike

As Nigerians who were hoodwinked to vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2015 become restive because of their unfulfilled electoral promises and manifest incompetence on the part of those who claimed to have the magic wand to solving Nigeria’s problems, the confused party, especially in Rivers State is resorting to dubious predictions and blackmail; more falsehood against reality and self deception.

Among Nigerians who are pained that the APC has put the nation’s development on the reverse gear in the last two years, failing in all fronts, as well as setting new records of governance by proxy, is the Coalition of Rivers Patriots.

In a statement signed by the publicity secretary, Barr. Barilede Thompson, the Coalition of Rivers Patriots said Nigerians no longer have confidence in the APC, and that the party is on its way out of power at the centre.

The Rivers Patriots further maintained that Nigerians are now wiser, having realised that APC do not have a credible road map to take Nigeria to greater heights.

It described as laughable a press statement issued by the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state, showcasing as usual its traditional hallucination, but rechristened as prediction, that Governor Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State is destroying the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at state and federal levels.

The Patriots said Rivers people have not forgotten in a hurry how Senator Magnus Abe and other APC chieftains in Rivers almost set the state on fire a couple of days ago because of the party’s fraudulent non – elective congress, but for the intervention of the police in the state, dismissing the APC as a balkanised party, lacking in credibility.

The group contends that the lies that brought APC to power can no longer sustain them in office, the reason, according to Rivers Patriots, disappointed Nigerians are now rooting for the PDP, the party they have realised is a better platform for the transformation of Nigeria.

The Patriots recalled that governance in Rivers State was destroyed by former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s current Transportation Minister, who did not only sell off valued assets of the state, but mismanaged the proceeds, the reason, according to them, the Rivers State Government is out to prosecute him and his collaborators.

The group advised the embattled minister to prove his allegation in court if he strongly feels that the documents being used to prosecute him are forged, adding that, no amount of blackmail will stop the state government from going ahead to ensure that those who betrayed the trust of Rivers people do not go unpunished.

In the statement, the Coalition of Rivers Patriots clarified that, while Mr. Amaechi inherited a robust state, he left behind an empty treasury for his successor, Governor Wike, who, he had boasted will not be able to pay salaries. Continue reading

Governor Wike’s investment in science education, commendable – Obuah

Published by:

Felix Obuah, PDP Chairman.

The chairman of the State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has again given Governor Nyesom Wike a pat on the back for his interest and huge investment in science education in the State, describing the gesture as a step in the right direction.
Bro Obuah in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam said no leader in the history of the State has shown such degree of remarkable interest in seeing the State take off technologically by re-awakening the interest of our school children in Science, Technology and Mathematics as Gov Wike.

The State PDP chairman also expressed joy that the Gov’s efforts in this regard are not lost on the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) and commended the body for reciprocating the efforts of His Excellency by holding their 60th Anniversary Conference in Port Harcourt, the State capital and the investiture of Governor Wike as the patron of STAN.

More remarkable, Bro Obuah stated, is the sponsorship of 400 Science Teachers for this year’s STAN Conference geared towards encouraging science teachers in public schools across the State to upgrade their knowledge of current trends in science and technology so as to be able to teach the students well.
