CHURCH BUILDING MONEY TORN MEMBERS APART

Published by:

Some senior pastors and top officials in the Ozuoba branch of Living Faith Church of God have been locked up in a bitter dispute with the contractor handling the church building over alleged fraud in the construction of the church building. The contractor in charge of the construction of the Ozuoba branch of the Living Faith Church, LEWIS IHAMA is accusing some senior pastors and top officials of the branch of fraud, assault, harassment, unlawful arrest and threat to live.
Our correspondent who has been following up on the matter gathered that the investigation team from the Nigerian Police have intervened and concluded investigations on the alleged criminals activities perpetrated by some persons within the church, but are yet to be arraigned in court as part of conditions for the investigations.
However, the alleged reluctant approach by the police to charge the matter to court is not going down well with LEWIS IHAMA who is the contractor. To this end, IHAMA has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS and Rivers State Commissioner of Police ZAKI AHMED to direct the investigative team to arraigned the defaulters and produce the investigations so far conducted on the alleged civil business dealings. According to a copy of the petition which was filed through the counsel to the claimant, which was sighted by our correspondent, IHAMA want full prosecution of those found guilty of alleged fraudulent act.
While speaking in an interview with our correspondent, IHAMA who also goes by the name, IRENJOAN International Limited narrated his experience in the deal. When our correspondent visited the church branch, he could not reach the pastors mentioned in the petition. According to our source, it was said that they have been transferred just as a senior pastor who chatted with our correspondent declined to speak on the matter as he claimed he was not in the right position to comment.
