The UNESCO regional officer, Abdul Lamin on Tuesday decried a two percent decline in the level of literacy in Africa. He made the statement in a regional workshop in Nairobi. Lamin said that countries, such as Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania account for half of the number.
