SENATOR MAGNUS ABE ADVOCATES BETTER CARE FOR SICKLE ANEMIA PATIENTS

Organizers and sufferers of Sickle Cell anemia.

Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe is advocating for the creation of free Sickle Cell Society across the country.

He said that the awareness of the consequences of Sickle Cell anemia should reach the grass root including religious bodies, traditional rulers and civil society. According to the Senator, this would go a long way to reducing the incidence of the disease in Nigeria. Continue reading

SUSPECTED HAUSA MEN CLASH WITH CHRISTIAN WORSHIPPERS IN ONNE, RIVERS STATE

At least two people are feared dead and several others injured in a clash between some men suspected to be Hausa’s and some Christians in Eleme Local Government  Area of Rivers State.

Our correspondent gathered that some suspected Hausa men residing around Trailer Park within Eleme ambushed some Christians who were coming out from a programme organized by Assemblies of the Apostolic Church at F.O.T along Onne road. Several church properties were destroyed in the attack, leaving many wounded with various degrees of injuries from machete and knife cuts. Continue reading
